Southern Hills Car Care Clinic

Our Car Care Ministry seeks to help people in need who have no other place to turn. This ministry is coordinated by a team of faithful volunteers at Southern Hills Baptist Church and is to assist individuals and families by providing basic transportation with minor car repairs.

Services provided are minor car repairs by appointment only and are evaluated in advance. All automobile owners must fill out a “Car Care Application” form and turn it into Southern Hills administration office. Application forms are available in the office or here. A Car Care Ministry team member will contact the car owner for an interview, determine if the repair is something our team can accomplish, and then set an appointment.

The automobile owner is responsible for the cost of any parts needed and the labor is provided for free. All services are performed on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 8am – 12pm.

Life Launch Ministry for At-Risk Youth Aging out of Foster Care

Can you imagine turning 18 and being totally on your own----unprepared and alone? Each year in Oklahoma over 500 young people age out of the foster care system and are forced to make it on their own. The results can be tragic. Too many of these young people end up in prison, prostitution, homeless, penniless and with little hope for their future. But you can help simply by agreeing to spend one hour a week sharing your lives with one of these young people providing relational, emotional, and spiritual support. If you would like more information contact Francois Cardinal at info@shbctulsa.org

Mentoring Ministry

Helping Children Find Life through...
Adoption     Foster Care     Mentoring     Tutoring     Relationship

Realations Group is a place where 36 children ages 8 - 17 live.  These children have likely experienced extreme trauma, such as sexual or physical abuse.  Many of you have thought about adopting or foster care.  We at SHBC are partnering to start a new program with Realations, a "Mentoring Program," and we are in search of families willing to mentor some of these children -- meaning contacting them at least once/month, recognizing their birthday, visiting them, possibly taking them places, making sure they have somewhere to go on holidays, praying for them, helping them with homework projects...just listening and loving them. This is a great way to "Help these Children FIND LIFE!!!" through your love and commitment for a short period of time. This is also the first step SHBC is taking toward a more extensive "Orphan Ministry."  We very much believe in James 1:27, "TRUE RELIGION is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress...."

Our current involvement includes taking “Junior Achievement" into the Group Home on Wed pm, a Tuesday night girls' Bible Study, and on the 3rd Saturday of each month when we take dinner/plan activities/have a devotion time.  For more information contact Kim Owens via info@shbctulsa.org
